A 16th Annual Latin GRAMMY nominated drummer and 20-time DOWNBEAT music award winner (2009-2015 Best Jazz Group, Best Blues/Pop/Rock Group categories), Jonathan Thomas is respected widely as a multi-dimensional drummer/producer/composer/arranger that travels with numerous ensembles nationally and internationally. He captures the hearts of audiences with his drumming and his relational spirit. Along with his musicianship, Jonathan's passion and creativity are evident in his work as a teacher, mentor and collaborator. His groove on the drum set has been described by many artists as inimitable and versatile, possessing a heavy pocket with an affinity for detail, sensitivity, and poly-rhythmic independence making him one of the most influential drummers in a plethora of genres in today's generation. He brings an exhilarating combination of stage presence and eclectic musicianship to each performance.

Currently Jonathan is the drummer for indie-rock outfit "Civilian" (Tooth&Nail Records) based in Nashville, TN and was also the drummer for indie-worship band "Ascend the Hill" since its creation. He also maintains a busy and diverse performing, recording and teaching schedule based in Tampa, FL.
